Ensure the boxes are well cushioned with foam or bubble wrap. For large appliances like refrigerators, defrost at least two days before the move, and secure the moving interior parts. For washers, disconnect and drain all the water. Secure the washing drum using bolts and wrap the appliance with bubble wrap.

Use words like “ fragile”, “This side up”, “Do Not stack” etc. labelling also shows the destination room, which eases unpacking. This way, you will know what to unpack first upon arrival. With labeled boxes, it also becomes easier to track your items and spot any missing things.
