Google Rankings

In addition to the 18,000 unique visitors I have every month, there are a couple of pages that rank very highly on Google. Granted these are sorta obscure topics, but I think it's nifty. As of December 2004, here are some of my highest ranked pages:

Google Search StringPage RankGRR
chinese songs 5 962,000
transporter effect1 610,000
DVD warnings 1 388,000
monkey brains 1 299,000
16:9 widescreen 10 122,000
chinese tattoos 10 61,000

A better way to measure a page's popularity, however, would be to use what I'll call a Google Ratio Rank or GRR. This number is a ratio of the page's rank to the total number of pages found for a particular search string. So, for example, a search for the string "sex" shows that the Iowa Sex Offender Registry has a Google rank of 100, but out of 81.9 million total pages, the GRR of this page is 819,000. Likewise, "kirk sabers compositing" will bring up one of my pages ranked #1, but only out of two pages total, for a GRR or 2. Any page with a GRR of 1 will be a unique page and this is known as Google Spotting. Single word Google Spots are very rare.

As of today, I have no advertisers, but I would be willing to accept tasteful banners (preferably not animated) for relevant sites (e.g. a tattoo shop). As you can see, an ad would be quite distinctly visible on these very cleanly and simply designed pages. Rates could be $0.50 per thousand hits, which would be $5/month for chinese_tattoos.html.
